A Little About Katie Wilson

I am an Ontario Certified Teacher with six years of experience as an occasional teacher, complemented by a few Long-Term Occasional (LTO) positions. I am energetic, creative, and deeply passionate about fostering joyful learning environments. Drawing on my love of Disney and Lego, I intentionally incorporate play, imagination, and storytelling into my practice to make learning engaging, meaningful, and fun.

My background in childcare and my experience as a parent strongly inform my approach to classroom community, routines, and behaviour management. I design lessons that are developmentally responsive, inclusive, and structured, while still allowing students’ curiosity and creativity to shine. I am committed to continual professional growth and am always refining my practice to meet the diverse academic, social, and emotional needs of my students.

In my classrooms, students experience a calm, organized learning space where expectations are clear, relationships are prioritized, and every learner is encouraged to take risks, persevere, and celebrate their progress.

Teaching Philosophy

I am a dedicated educator who believes learning should be fun, accessible, and inclusive for every student. I design playful, engaging learning experiences that invite all children to participate, explore, and express themselves. By making learning joyful and meaningful, I help students build the confidence, skills, and curiosity they need to succeed in the classroom and in their lives beyond school.
